Our client is a prestigious multinational corporation known for providing highly specialized professionalism and expertise in many sectors. It is spread over several locations worldwide, from where specific international projects are supported.
It planned to insert some professional profiles necessary to deal with new international projects.
The company wishes to evaluate qualified candidates in the role below:
Operations Engineer
Overall end-to-end realtime monitoring and operations for ESA Earth Explorers Live Missions, ESA Heritage Missions, ESA Third Party Missions
Investigate and understand root causes for issues in operations
Watch carefully for operational problems by studying performance results and systems functioning and ways to apply improvements to optimize processes
Develop corrective actions to solve the operations issues
Support the startup and integration of new operations projects
Create scripts enabling the automation of standard tasks
Managing system and application incidents in order to fixing the system and to restore the service as soon as possible
Managing system and application problems in order to locate the underlying root causes to prevent incidents from reoccurring
Software Change and Release Management
Software Integration and validation activities
Software Installation and operational verification
Data Transformation (i.e. conversion to standard Satellite formats)
Ensure the Satellite Data Dissemination to end users
Establish, document and maintain operational procedures
Collect, analyze and summarize engineering and operating trends and data
Acquire and analyse customer needs and problems, making recommendations for new developing solutions
Generate ideas for innovating managed applications
Contribute to the continuous evolution of the managed applications
Regular interaction with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure systems integrity and security
Application monitoring and alarm analysis
Interface with third party suppliers
Technical notes editing support
Generation and maintenance of Operational Procedures and work instructions
Execute regular application maintenance activities
echnical Skills:
Excellent knowledge of Linux shell scripting
Very good Linux knowledge (mainly Red Hat, but not limited to)
Good knowledge of Python programming
Good knowledge of the Java Suite
Good knowledge of HTML and XML
Good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes technologies
Good Knowledge of DBs technology: MySQL,ORACLE,PostgreSQL,SQL
Good knowledge of Apache
Good knowledge of Tomcat
Good knowledge OpenLDAP
Good Networking knowledge
Good English Technical Writing
Familiarity with Storage technologies
Familiarity with Cloud technologies
Familiarity with ESA ECSS standards
Requirements Definition and Analysis
Project Planning
Reporting
Knowledge of Satellite products standards is an asset
Personal Skills:
Fluent in English Language (both written and spoken >=B1)
Good communications skills

Ability to work in a team and to share and acquire knowledge
Willingness to travel abroad for short-term periods
• 2 years of experience in programming and scripting
• 2 years of experience in ESA infrastructures
Preferable:
ITIL Certification (V4)
English Certification (≥ B1)
